Biographical Note for SCHIOTZ TONOMETER

Schiøtz \ˈshyœts\ Hjalmar (1850–1927), Norwegian physician. With the French ophthalmologist Louis-Emile Javal (1839–1907), Schiøtz invented a tonometer for measuring intraocular pressure. They introduced their tonometer in an article published in 1881.
